New library at the JKU Linz now with electrical engineering from HAINZL

Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz is not just investing in academic excellence, but also in campus development in order to catch up with European universities. The library building, which dates from the 1980s, has recently been upgraded in an ambitious functional and architectural manner, including the Learning Center. The entire electrical engineering for this project has been installed by HAINZL.

The library houses about one million books. With its structural extension, the JKU features additional, visually attractive elements such as the "Spanish Steps" and the new atrium of the new building on top. The new Learning Center offers students approximately 300 seats in three zones: Silent learning, general learning and rooms for in-group learning.

Our scope of services included the complete electrical installation, including the low voltage distribution, the LAN cabling (network technology), the installation of all safety-related systems such as the fire alarm system, safety lighting, a complex lighting system and the lightning protection system.

Execution period: 05.2019 - 02.2020
Order volume: EUR 700,000 excl. VA
