A company in the automotive industry needed a way to test battery cells during cyclic charging and discharging processes under precisely defined temperature conditions. Since parameters such as capacity, internal resistance, and aging behavior are highly temperature-dependent, previous measurements without a controlled environment led to fluctuating and difficult-to-compare results.
HAINZL developed a compact cycling chamber for this purpose, which provides a precisely temperature-controlled environment between room temperature and +60°C. The test cell consists of a robust stainless steel chamber with replaceable fire protection lining and an integrated heating element. A purge air function ensures defined thermal conditions throughout the entire test sequence. Stable temperature control allows long-term and cycle tests to be carried out reproducibly, which significantly increases the validity of the measurement results.
