HAINZL supplied four hydraulic rotary actuators to a steel mill in India for use in a coil box on a hot strip mill. The actuators control the swiveling motion of the wrapper arm, which guides, supports, and holds the coil together during the unwinding and rewinding of the pre-rolled, still-hot steel strip. By converting hydraulic pressure energy into a precise rotary motion, the drives ensure a reliable, controlled process flow.
The rotary drives are designed to meet the demands of harsh rolling mill operations and provide the required rotary motion with high torque. In doing so, they make a significant contribution to process stability and product quality in hot strip production.
