HAINZL developed a high-precision oil temperature control unit for a technical university in Germany, specifically designed to regulate the temperature of thermal oil in an electric motor test bench. The system combines a wide range of technical requirements into a compact, intelligent solution, thereby supporting cutting-edge research and development work.
The unit features two independent control loops that supply three consumers—the stator, rotor, and ball bearings—with precisely conditioned medium. Temperature control via mixing valves and flow control using frequency converters or control valves enable highly precise and reproducible process control. The return flow is collected in a common tank and specifically fed back to the individual consumers via two feed pumps. A common cooling water circuit ensures efficient temperature management and stable test conditions.
With high-quality sensors, two precisely designed heat exchangers, and integrated instantaneous water heaters, the system delivers precise media conditioning and ensures constant temperature and flow parameters. As a result, the oil temperature control unit meets key customer requirements such as precise temperature and flow control, reliable process automation, and maximum process reliability even under demanding conditions.
The precise and dynamically controlled oil temperature regulation ensures high reproducibility and validity of test results—a decisive factor in electric motor research.
