HAINZL supplied high-precision hydraulic power units, valve units, and hydraulic cylinders for a vacuum arc remelting (VAR) plant in China for our customer INTECO melting and casting technologies GmbH. The plant plays a central role in the production of high-quality special steels.

INTECO implemented a total of four VAR plants, each of which is capable of producing steel blocks weighing 12 tons and with a diameter of 960 mm. The hydraulic equipment supplied by HAINZL is used to clamp the remelting electrode and to seal the plant tightly, which is then evacuated so that the VAR process can be carried out under vacuum.

This project is part of a long-standing collaboration with INTECO, in which numerous hydraulic solutions and the associated equipment have already been developed and implemented.
