Cooling module for a glass melting system in dental technology

HAINZL developed a high-performance cooling module for an international medical technology company, which is used in a glass melting system for dental technology. This facility produces highly specialized glass-ceramic materials that are later used for crowns and other dental prosthetics. Since the melting crucible reaches temperatures of around 1600°C, reliable and precisely controlled cooling of the induction coils is essential to ensure stable and safe operation of the process.

The system supplied by HAINZL provides a fully automated cooling water supply and enables flow rates of up to 325 l/min. The system is designed to ensure stable media conditioning even under extreme thermal loads. The integrated control system includes all sensors for temperature and flow, allowing the cooling process to be continuously monitored and precisely controlled.

Process water within a controlled temperature range of 20–60°C is used as the medium. The cooling module ensures constant, high-precision cooling performance, which is crucial for the quality and reproducibility of the glass melting process. This process stability is of central importance, particularly in dental technology, where material properties in the micrometer and microkelvin ranges determine the subsequent strength, aesthetics, and machinability.

The solution thus underscores the core competencies of HAINZL process technology: precise temperature and flow control, reliable process automation, and maximum process reliability even under extreme operating conditions.
