HAINZL developed a custom embedded systems solution for the heating equipment manufacturer Guntamatic. The project focused on designing a new, future-proof generation of control systems that combines modern technology with intuitive user guidance.
Guntamatic, a leading Austrian manufacturer of biomass boilers and hybrid heating systems, has over 50 years of experience in the development and production of innovative heating technologies. The company is known for its efficient and environmentally friendly solutions in the field of heat generation and distribution. With a broad product range spanning from small to large-scale systems, Guntamatic sets the standard for sustainable energy generation.
To meet the market’s growing demands, Guntamatic sought a flexible and future-proof solution to optimize its heating systems.
The key challenge for Guntamatic was to find a unified control solution for its biomass boilers and hybrid heating systems. The new embedded systems were required to ensure high availability, durability, and serviceability while also being compatible with various heating systems.
Another requirement was easy system integration into Guntamatic’s existing infrastructure to enable efficient maintenance and simple operation via a modern human-machine interface (HMI).
The project began with a detailed conceptual phase, followed by electronics development. After successfully designing and testing prototypes, the project moved on to the pilot production run and finally transitioned to final series production. Thanks to rapid implementation, the project was completed within approximately 18 months.
HAINZL is responsible for embedded systems development, the precise coordination of embedded hardware and software, and EMS series production, and supplies approximately 10,000 electronic assemblies to Guntamatic annually.
